4th Annual Remembering Our Heroes
Experience World War II as the 6th Cavalry Museum and community volunteers present a day of living history and remembrance of our Armed Forces. The events will be held on the former parade ground – polo field of the Army Post at Fort Oglethorpe (1902 – 1946).
Two World War II battle re-enactments will be held on the parade field with authentic WWII M-36 Jackson Tank Destroyer, vehicles and Allied and Axis re-enactors. “S.O.S.” or “Stuff on a Shingle” Cook-Off will represent each branch of service dishing up samples of the military’s most famous meal. Every adult admission will receive 3 sample tickets and be able to vote for their favorite rendition of this classic military chow. Enjoy the USO Show featuring Bob Hope, Rita Hayworth, Judy Garland and Betty Grable. A full day of activities, displays and living history await you at the 4th Annual Remembering Our Heroes.
